Marv Davidov, freedom-rider from the 1960s, long-time practitioner of Active Nonviolence especially against the manufacture of cluster bombs. He has been arrested 50 times for acts of nonviolent civil resistance. His active campaigns include:
Founder and director of the Honeywell Project resisting the company's manufacture of cluster bombs and other armaments--1968-1990. Involved with Minnesota powerline farmers' resistance to high-voltage power lines--1978-1982. Black Hills Alliance protecting Lakota from uranium mining--1979-1980. Cultural work with Voctor JARA Fund--1979-1984. Helped hotel restaurant workers win a lockout at the Normandy Hotel in Minneapolis--1991. Marv has made numerous trips to Cuba with Global Exchange. He is personally acquainted with nearly every American activist and is our main source of “Living History” for radical movements in the U.S. Marv regularly team-teaches JPST 280 (formerly 340 or 450) with Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer. |
